A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:57 a.m. valid from 1 p.m. until Tuesday 10 a.m. for Berkshire County.
“Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations one to three inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch,” says the weather service. “Snow and sleet will move in late this afternoon into this evening. The precipitation will transition to plain rain and freezing rain tonight. Freezing rain and freezing drizzle will continue especially over elevated surfaces overnight into Tuesday morning with light ice accumulations.”
“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes,” explains the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
