MILTON – The rain was coming down hard throughout the Boys Division 1 Rugby Championship, but neither No. 1 Boston College High School nor No. 2 Xaverian Brothers were bothered. With a state title on the line, both teams came to play with a true sense of urgency.
Everything seemed to be going in the Eagles’ favor, but the Hawks were able to avoid the shutout, scoring with two minutes remaining on an impressive try by Luke Bell. The conversion was good, putting Xaverian right back in the game. However, it was a little too late for the comeback to be completed. And with that, it was déjà vu for the Eagles, as they once again defeated Xaverian in the championship for back-to-back state titles.
