SPRINGFIELD — A complaint filed in federal court says when Baystate Health discovered it wired $700,000 to a scammer in 2022, the Secret Service and the U.S. Attorneys Office worked to identify and seize the funds.
Months later, some $420,000 of Baystate’s money is “unaccounted for,” the hospital system says, and it sued the bank it claims allowed its funds to be siphoned out the scammer’s bank account.
