Walpole retained the top spot in our Bay State Conference rankings following its second win of the season over Needham on Tuesday.
The game was the Timberwolves’ closest of the season so far, winning 11-9 at home. Jack Webb had a first quarter hat trick to power Walpole’s offense.
Despite three losses in its last four games, the Rockets retain their No. 2 spot in the rankings. Two of the losses came against Walpole, while the other came against Lincoln-Sudbury. The team’s most recent win was on Apr. 17 against Milton, 6-2.
Wellesley is coming off a loss against Winchester, 14-4, on Tuesday. The program’s only other loss so far this season came in its season opener against Catholic Memorial.
The Raiders have played close, low-scoring games so far this spring. In four of the team’s seven games so far, Wellesley and its opponent have scored in the single digits. Two of the team’s wins are by two goals or less. The team will look to bounce back from its loss to Winchester against a powerhouse Hingham program at home on Thursday.
The only movement in this week’s rankings comes with Brookline and Weymouth trading places at No. 9 and 10. Both teams are still looking for their first win of the season.
Both teams will get a chance to get into the win column when they play each other on Apr. 29.
