Although there wasn’t any movement in this week’s rankings, plenty of important games have been played by Bay State Conference teams during the last seven days.
Walpole continued its run of dominance with lop-sided wins against Weymouth and Foxborough, outscoring the teams 35-10. Caitlyn Naughton, as expected, has been a force on offense, scoring five goals in the team’s most recent win against Foxborough. The Timberwolves’ next task will be against Grafton on Friday before its battle against another conference heavyweight, Wellesley, on Apr. 29.
Wellesley has responded well to its loss to Notre Dame Academy on Apr. 7, winning five-straight, including a victory against Cicero-North Syracuse (NY), a program that was ranked in the Top 25 nationally according to Inside Lacrosse before the start of the season. Olivia Comella and Abby Beggans each scored five goals in the win. The Raiders are playing games in Southern California during the April break. Their next game is against Coronado High School on Thursday.
Newton North continues to have a strong first half of the regular season. The program’s only loss so far came in a one-goal game with Natick. Aside from the loss, the program has wins over Framingham, Weymouth, Westford Academy, Brookline and Braintree. The program will put its strong record to the test when it takes on Needham on Apr. 29.
