A 32-year-old man is facing an OUI charge after crashing his car into a fence and parked vehicle in Wareham early Saturday morning, according to the Wareham Police Department.
A black Buick sedan, driven by Cody Connolly, of Wareham, blew a traffic stop on Onset Avenue just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 7, Wareham police said on Facebook. Connolly speed away before the officer got out of his cruiser.
Connolly then drove up Tenth Street where he crashed through a fence and hit a parked vehicle near Union Avenue, police said. He then got out of the Buick and ran.
Wareham officers along with a Plymouth County Sheriff K-9 units searched the area and found Connolly shortly after. He was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.
In addition, officers found a plastic bag that Connolly threw into the woods. The bag contained suspected cocaine and mushrooms, according to police.
Connolly was charged with operating under the influence (OUI) alcohol, failure to stop, leaving the scene property damage and drug offenses, police said. He will be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Tuesday.
