West Springfield’s Majestic Theater opened its 28th season of plays with the musical “Once” on Sept. 4. The production will continue Wednesday through Sundays through Oct. 19.
Once, with a book by Enda Walsh, and music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, is about an Irish street musician and a Czech immigrant who form an unlikely bond over their shared love of music. Set against the backdrop of Dublin, the show captures the magic of creative connection, love, and the healing power of song with a score that blends folk, pop, and soul.
