A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Friday at 6:06 a.m. for black ice until 9:15 a.m. for Berkshire County.
“With temperatures below freezing this morning, any snow that melted yesterday has refrozen, resulting in slippery patches of ice across portions of eastern New York and western New England. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution if driving or walking through 9 a.m. this morning and be prepared for a possible thin layer of ice on roadways, sidewalks, stairs, driveways or any other untreated ground surfaces which may remain icy and slippery,” adds the weather service.
