An arbitration judge has ordered the reinstatement of an Amherst Regional Middle School counselor who was fired in 2023 following an investigation into claims that she and two other counselors misgendered transgender students, Amherst-Pelham Public Schools Superintendent E. Xiomara “Dr. Xi” Herman announced Wednesday.
Delinda Dykes was among multiple district staff members who became embroiled in controversy after an Amherst-Pelham Regional High School student newspaper published an extensive article detailing allegations against her and two other counselors in May 2023.
