PALMER — People ruminate on clean energy solutions. And at Burgundy Brook Farm in Palmer, a herd of Angus beef cattle ruminate under one possible solution.
As part of its “agrivoltaic” portfolio, solar developer BlueWave hosted tours Thursday at its new, 2 megawatt solar power installation at Burgundy Brook Farm on Palmer Street. At added expense, the solar panels were built taller and sturdier allowing farmer Tom Roberts Jr. not only to graze cattle under the solar panels but also run haying equipment in the field, depending on crop rotations and his needs.
