CHICOPEE — Two years before city firefighter Jason Chapdelaine allegedly stabbed his girlfriend 40 times in his truck, Springfield police records show he overdosed on heroin behind the wheel and plowed into the side of a house.
It is unclear whether the incident was ever reported to officials in Chicopee, but the records show that on Dec. 12, 2022, police responded to a home on Merrimac Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. and found that a blue Toyota Tacoma had collided with the front porch.
