Acclaimed rock band seemingly reveals first tour in 7 years

Radiohead has seemingly confirmed the band’s first string of shows in seven years by dropping clues in print.

Fans started to post photos of fliers promoting apparent Radiohead tour dates in the Radiohead subreddit on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The dates were for shows in Berlin, Copenhagen, London and Madrid.

Stereogum reported that a source code on the band’s WASTE site also confirmed dates for 20 shows in the UK and Europe starting Nov. 4 in Spain. If true, this would be Radiohead’s first tour since 2018. The tour dates have not been officially announced along with ticket on-sale dates.

Rumors started circulating about a possible Radiohead tour after the band established a new limited liability partnership in March under the name RHEUK25 LLP, according to the British Government’s Companies House agency. Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway were all named in the new LLP, which allows the band to work outside of the typical framework of a record label.

Days later, Radiohead’s manager donated four tickets to a “Radiohead concert of your choice” to a Los Angeles wildfire relief auction at Palisades High School. The winning bidder would be able to choose their preferred city and date “based on the band’s tour schedule,” which was expected to begin “this autumn.”

Radiohead is a Grammy-winning art rock band known for is experimental, alternative sound on songs like “Creep,” “Fake Plastic Trees,” “Karma Police,” “Paranoid Android,” and “The National Anthem.” The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and five of their albums have been named among Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

It’s unclear if the tour would come with any new music. Radiohead most recently released a live album version of “Hail to the Thief” in August, and celebrated the 30th anniversary of “The Bends” by unearthing a rare VHS video of a 1995 concert performance.

Yorke released “Tall Tales,” a new experimental electronic album with Mark Pritchard, in May. Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have also performed in a side project called The Smile.
