The Red Sox made two roster moves before their game against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on Saturday. They placed Triston Casas on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation and promoted Bobby Dalbec.
Casas was scratched from the Red Sox lineup both Friday and Saturday because of a sore right shoulder.
The rookie first baseman has been Boston’s best hitter during the second half, batting .317 with a .417 on-base percentage, .617 slugging percentage, 1.034 OPS, 15 homers, seven doubles, one triple, 32 runs, 38 RBIs, 30 walks and 50 strikeouts in 54 games (211 plate appearances).

Dalbec has spent most of the 2023 season at Triple-A Worcester where he has batted .269 with a .381 on-base percentage, .557 slugging percentage, .938 OPS, 33 homers, 14 doubles, three triples, 82 runs, 79 RBIs, 64 walks, 169 strikeouts and 18 steals in 114 games (493 plate appearances).
Dalbec is 2-for-12 with two walks, one run, one stolen base and eight strikeouts in 10 games for Boston this season.
Casas initially was penciled in the lineup to play first base Saturday. Justin Turner, who was in the initial lineup at DH, was moved to first base. Masataka Yoshida was moved from left field to DH. Adam Duvall was moved from center field to left field. Wilyer Abreu, who wasn’t in the initial lineup, will play center field and lead off.
The Red Sox and Blue Jays will play at 3:07 p.m. at Rogers Centre.
