The Worcester Red Sox comeback attempt came up one run short Friday night as they fell to the Rochester Red Wings, 6-5, on the road.
After falling behind 6-2 in the fourth inning, the WooSox started chipping away at the four-run deficit late in the game.
Ronaldo Hernandez hit a two-run home run to left in the sixth, bringing in Stephen Scott to make it a 6-4 game. Enmanuel Valdez then hit a 2-2 pitch with two outs on a line to center in the ninth inning.
