Hadley police arrested a Rockland woman Thursday morning who they say urinated throughout the town’s Walmart and attacked store staff and police.
Yasha MacDonald, 38, is facing charges of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and trespassing, Hadley police said in a Facebook post.
Officers first encountered MacDonald on Wednesday after store staff asked her to leave and she responded by refusing and swearing at them, police said. The staff members had asked her to leave because she had “intentionally urinated in several locations throughout the store.”
MacDonald was initially uncooperative with the officers, but she eventually left the store after being asked to leave multiple times, police said.
MacDonald returned to the Walmart around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, police said. A store staff member quickly asked her to leave, and she responded by trying to strike them.
MacDonald was again uncooperative with officers, police said. They soon identified her and discovered that she had an active arrest warrant out of Hingham District Court on a charge of assault and battery on a police officer.
Officers arrested MacDonald, and she responded by pushing an officer and spitting in their face, police said. They then took her to Eastern Hampshire District Court to be arraigned.
