A tractor-trailer caught fire on a Route 146 off-ramp from Interstate 90 in Millbury Wednesday morning, causing severe delays on the highway and surrounding roads.
Interstate 90 was closed in both directions at Exit 94 as of about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday morning due to the fire, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation wrote on X.
As of about 8:15 a.m., east and westbound traffic on the highway had reopened. Exit 94 remained closed.
WBZ News Radio 1030 reported a tractor-trailer was “fully engulfed” in flames and traffic was backed up approaching the ramps.

Massachusetts State Police did not immediately respond to a request for information on potential injuries.
