A man sustained injuries believed to be life-threatening when he was shot near the Jackson Square MBTA station in Jamaica Plain on Monday afternoon, and officers arrested a person believed to be responsible for the shooting soon after, Boston Police said.
Police went to 245 Centre St. in Jamaica Plain for a shot spotter activation and corresponding 911 call reporting a person shot at 2:37 p.m. on Monday, Boston Police Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin told reporters during a press conference at the scene. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds.
The man was treated by Boston Emergency Medical Services and taken to a hospital, with injuries believed to be life-threatening. At around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said the man was in critical condition.
