Westfield state primary election vote-by-mail ballots should arrive this week

WESTFIELD — City Clerk Kaitlyn Bruce said her Westfield office has received the ballots for the Sept. 3 state primary election, and staff will be hand-delivering them to the post office this week for people who have requested to vote by mail.

The state primary election will feature party candidates for offices such as state representative, state senator, governor’s councilor and both senator and representative in Congress. The nominees selected for each party will advance to the November general election.

People at in-town addresses can expect to receive their primary election vote-by-mail ballots in the next couple of days, Bruce said. Voters can request vote-by-mail ballots online, by returning postcards that were sent out from the secretary of the commonwealth’s Elections Division, or by filling out a vote-by-mail application.
