HOLYOKE — Outside of Puerto Rico, Holyoke has the largest Puerto Rican population globally. Within this community, a significant number of people hail from the city of Salinas, Puerto Rico, including the sister of the mayor of la Alcaldesa, Karilyn Bonilla.
Holyoke will celebrate the vibrant connection between the two communities during its Fiesta de Patronales de Holyoke. This year, Nueva Esperanza and Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia will host Bonillia during the annual festival from Aug. 1-4 on Dwight Street.
