SPRINGFIELD — For months, Janisse Gonzalez has been watching and waiting for the day when construction on the park next door would be finished.
It couldn’t have been better timed. On Tuesday she glanced over to Donna Blake Park and saw it was open for the first time in months. She called to her 8-year-old son and they walked over so he could escape the 90-degree heat in the new spray park.
