How Springfield schools will spend $60 million in final pandemic relief

SPRINGFIELD – More than 30 city schools are getting improvements such as air conditioning installations, new playgrounds and one will even have a new outside bandshell, all funded with $60 million in pandemic recovery money.

With the Sept. 30 deadline to spend Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds looming, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with school officials to discuss how that money will help teachers, students and parents.
