Patriots starter breaks silence on contract situation

Davon Godchaux spoke out about his contract for the first time since seemingly staging a hold-in at Patriots minicamp earlier this month.

Entering the final year of his deal, the nose tackle didn’t participate in any team periods and stood behind his teammates as he watched some of the individual drills, too. Godchaux is set to make $8.3 million in 2024, per OverTheCap, but none of that is guaranteed. By coming to mandatory minicamp but not participating, he can’t be fined for an unexcused absence.
