DENVER — A woman was caught on surveillance video vandalizing American flags honoring fallen Denver police officers, the New York Post reported.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office released footage showing the woman approaching a roadside flag near their headquarters on June 5, according to the report. In the video, the woman used a small blade or key to rip seven flags, which were displayed in honor of fallen officers.

After tearing up the flags, she made a defiant gesture towards the camera before walking away. Authorities stated the woman had previously defaced American flags in the Denver area earlier this month. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying her, according to the report.
“We are pretty sure that she would like us to personally credit her performance, so if you can help us identify this individual, we will make sure she gets the encore she deserves,” the sheriff’s department stated.
If identified, the woman could face a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, according to the report.
