Here’s where you can see a ‘real’ unicorn in Massachusetts this summer

Sure, you’ve heard of the mythical, one-horned, majestic unicorn — but have you ever seen one?

Well, now is your chance.

The Farm at SummitWynds in Holden is hosting a Unicorn Experience Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m, featuring a bounce castle, pony rides and “unicorns.”

The venue, located at 69 Summit Road, is on the grounds of a lavender farm, and though the lavender will not be in bloom yet, guests will have an opportunity to overlook pastures and Mount Wachusett.

Visitors will see “unicorns” of all sizes and colors, listen to a unicorn story with a princess, take a wagon ride around the farm and enjoy lavender treats and drinks.

The “unicorns” are horses with a realistic-looking horn on their forehead. There are at least four “unicorns” listed on the farm’s website: Cupid, Pearl, Sparkles and Onyx. Each has their own bio, including: “Pearl is a rare and beautiful Unicorn that allows everyone who sees her to shine brightly.”

The site also lists four regular-old horses: Bandit, Silverado, Diamond and Yellowstone.

Attendees can shop local vendors and enjoy a glass of lavender lemonade.
