A child has become the second person killed by a massive, six-alarm fire in East Boston earlier this month, officials said Tuesday.
A spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office confirmed the child’s death in an email.
A total of six people, including the child, were taken to the hospital following the early morning fire on April 2, as was a firefighter, according to a spokesman for the department. Many of those taken to the hospital were rescued by firefighters on aerial ladders.
