A $1 million lottery prize was claimed on Monday by a player who’d bought their winning crossword-style ticket at a shop in Boston.
The $1 million prize was from the lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” scratch ticket game, which involves players scratching letters on the ticket to complete words.
The winning ticket was sold in South Boston from a shop called J & J Mini Mart.
Additionally, a $100,000 lottery prize was won on Monday during the daily “Mass Cash” drawing. The winning numbers for the drawing were 8, 19, 24, 29 and 31. The winning ticket was sold in Saugus from a shop called Marina’s Mart.
Overall, there were at least 828 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Monday, including 16 in Springfield, 32 in Worcester and 80 in Boston.
The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
So far, the three largest lottery prizes won in Massachusetts in 2024 were all $4 million prizes. One was claimed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, another was claimed on Tuesday, Feb. 27 and the third was claimed on Tuesday, March 19.
