PITTSBURGH — A man accused of pointing a gun at deputies was taken into custody after driving into a pool during a pursuit, KDKA reported.

Jeremy Neal, 31, was approached by Allegheny Sheriff’s Office deputies on Dec. 27 when they noticed he was “involved in suspicious activity,” according to the report.

“Prior to approaching Neal, the deputies confirmed his identity through his vehicle registration and also confirmed that Neal was wanted by Braddock Borough Police for a firearms violation,” a Facebook news release stated.

When deputies approached Neal, he pulled a handgun from his pocket, dropped it in the backseat of the vehicle and tried to reach for it, according to the report. He then drove away from the scene as deputies tried to remove him from the vehicle

The next day, a police pursuit ensued when Neal’s vehicle was spotted in Pittsburgh. Neal fled to a Forest Hills neighborhood before driving his car into a swimming pool. A police cruiser also became partially submerged in the pool, according to the report.

Neal was not injured during the incident and was taken into custody. He faces multiple charges related to both incidents.
