BEVERLY, Mass. — SIONYX recently debuted its new mobile app and firmware update to its helmet-mounted digital night vision monocular.
OPSIN, the company’s helmet-mounted monocular, features its XQE-1350 Black Silicon sensor to deliver ultra-low-light images and video recording to assist during surveillance and firearms training.
The new app, which is compatible with Android and iOS devices, includes enhancements to the heads-up display, as well as new modes and features. Moreover, the 2.0.0 upgrades improve usability with an updated interface and features that allow users to carry out tasks under a variety of environmental conditions.
Other features and updates include:
- Advanced image processing: OSPIN 2.0 includes advanced low-light user experience options.
- Region Of Interest (ROI) mode update: This filter enables the handling of high dynamic scenes, including those involving lasers or IR illumination. The filter has three options: wide, narrow and off.
- Monochrome mode: For low-light conditions, the monochrome mode gives users the option to view images in grayscale to provide images that are easier to interpret.
- 2D noise filter: This is mainly used in outdoor environments with busy scenes. The filter reduces noise, creates better-quality images and gives the user a natural visual experience.
- Improved location services: The update includes enhancements to the digital magnetic compass and GPS satellite data display.
