GLENDALE, Wis. — An edited release of body camera video and surveillance footage by the Milwaukee Police Department shows a driver ram an officer in order to escape police, WTMJ reported.
In surveillance video, a black car can be seen driving into the open passenger door of a black pickup truck. According to the report, the black car contained suspect Ramon Trujillo and was driven by Timothy Jinor-Riley.
The black pickup truck was an undercover police vehicle being used by MPD officers assigned to the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, who were trying to arrest Trujillo for his arrest warrants in three separate criminal cases.
The video shows the pickup truck pulling in front of the car and an officer stepping out. As the officer was commanding the suspects to get out of the car, it surged forward and pinned the officer with the vehicle’s door.
Body camera then shows the pinned officer firing at the vehicle, while other officers rushed to arrest Trujillo and Jinor-Riley. A handgun was recovered in their vehicle, according to the report.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
