The Nobel Prize committee announced they are the recipients of the 2023 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. Besides the grand accomplishment of saving lives and making a huge impact on public health, they will receive a large cash award, and an 18-carat gold medal and diploma.
The history of the Nobel Prize goes back to the Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel. He left his money to the creation of this prize when he died in 1896.
