Week 4 saw an AFC East showdown that started out with Buffalo and Miami trading blows, but ultimately saw the Bills remind the Dolphins who was boss.
Tough to see the Bills losing their stranglehold on the division if Josh Allen continues to play as well as he did against the Dolphins during Sunday’s 48-20 win.
Elsewhere, one of the best games of the week happened at the Meadowlands, with Taylor Swift once again watching her beau Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs sure seemed like a slam dunk against the New York Jets, but then stumbling, bumbling Zach Wilson morphed into a stud, showing off his titanic arm, and making plays all over the field.
Of course, Wilson wound up fumbling a snap, and losing the game late, but the Jets might not be toast without Aaron Rodgers after all.
The Patriots?
They were crushed by the Dallas Cowboys, and at 1-3, losing by 35, may have hit bottom. How far did they fall?
Here’s the Power Rankings heading into Week 5
1. San Francisco 49ers (4-0): Who needs George Kittle and Deebo Samuel when you’ve got Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk? They continue to flaunt their embarrassment of riches.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (4-0): They’ve been pushed, poked, prodded and pressed by opposing teams hellbent on beating them the first four weeks. And they still haven’t blinked.
3. Buffalo Bills (3-1): Josh Allen & Co. simply reminded everyone they aren’t going to surrender the AFC East without a fight.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (3-1): Is Taylor Swift a good luck charm? The Chiefs are 2-0 with her in the crowd, and needed every edge to take down the Jets Sunday night.
5. Miami Dolphins (3-1): The Bills served Mike McDaniel and the Fins a huge dose of humble pie, burying the team that’s been blowing everyone out.
6. Dallas Cowboys (3-1): They handed Bill Belichick the worst beat down of his coaching career. Enough said.
7. Baltimore Ravens (3-1): LaMar Jackson almost single-handedly took down Cleveland’s menacing defense.
8. Detroit Lions (3-1): They jumped into first place in the NFC North by beating Green Bay Thursday night, and may never look back.
9. Seattle Seahawks (3-1): Are we witnessing a Legion of Boom redux? Monday night against the Giants, Pete Carroll’s defense merely had 11 sacks, three takeaways and two turnovers on downs.
10. LA Chargers (2-2): Hard to believe they would win with Justin Herbert completing just 13 passes and throwing a pick. But win, they did to even their slate after opening 0-2.
11. LA Rams (2-2): Cooper who? Puka Nacua’s legend continues to grow, as his overtime touchdown secured another win for the Rams.
12. Tampa Bay Bucs (3-1): Surprise, surprise. They continue to win, and sit atop NFC South.
13. Green Bay Packers (2-2): They can’t expect Jordan Love to dig them out of two-score deficits every week. Even Aaron Rodgers didn’t do that.
14. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2): The UKs favorite sons played their best game of the season, dominating the Falcons early in the London opener.
15. Cleveland Browns (2-2): Without Deshaun Watson, the Browns seem rather pedestrian.
16. Washington Commanders (2-2): Love the resiliency of Sam Howell. After a forgettable performance the week before, he nearly pulled off an upset of the Eagles.
17. Indianapolis Colts (2-2): Anthony Richardson kept his team in the game with some second half heroics, but still fell short.
18. Tennessee Titans (2-2): Who knew the Titans had a 27-point game in their back pocket?
19. New York Jets (1-3): Zach Wilson was on his way to being the unlikely hero, taking down the Chiefs. Then he fumbled a snap. And that was that.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2): All of the offensive momentum they gained from beating the Raiders the previous game? It’s gone. Poof.
21. New Orleans Saints (2-2): After being questionable with a shoulder injury, Derek Carr wound up playing. Given all the boos raining down in New Orleans, quite a few wish he didn’t.
22. Cincinnati Bengals (1-3): Is it time for the panic button? Joe Burrow still isn’t right. No matter which way you slice it, there’s trouble in Cincinnati.
23. Houston Texans (2-2): Life with C.J. Stroud is off to a promising start. They took down the Steelers for the first time since 2011, and finally seem to have their answer at quarterback.
24. Atlanta Falcons (2-2): After a hot start, the Falcons have come back to earth. Ditto Desmond Ridder.
25. New England Patriots (1-3): To borrow a phrase, they stink, stank, and stunk across the board against the Cowboys. Coaching staff included.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-3): Hard for any quarterback to win, much less a rookie making his first start, if he’s running for his life. Aidan O’Connell was sacked seven times in his debut.
27. Arizona Cardinals (1-3): They’re better than their record suggests, and better than what most imagined. They’ve battled and been in every game.
28. Minnesota Vikings (1-3): They appeared headed for 0-4, but saved themselves some embarrassment after waking up in the second half.
29. New York Giants (1-3): The offensive line is a disaster. The Seahawks used Daniel Jones (10 sacks) as their personal punching bag Monday night.
30. Denver Broncos (1-3): The best thing you can say, is they won despite their woeful defense, which has given up 98 points the past two weeks.
31. Carolina Panthers (0-4): Given how underwhelming Bryce Young has looked, you have to wonder when, or if, the Panthers will win a game this season.
32. Chicago Bears (0-4): Justin Fields had a career day against a pathetic Broncos defense. The problem. Their defense was just as pathetic, unable to hold a 21-point lead.
