Police filed criminal charges against an 81-year-old man in connection with a fatal crash late last month that killed a 14-year-old.
Peter Richmond, of Yarmouth Port, is facing a single charge of motor vehicular homicide by negligent operation in connection with the Aug. 30 crash. Yarmouth Police say Richmond slammed his Cadillac Escalade into a boat trailer that had become disabled, causing the trailer to hit the people working to repair a damaged axle.
Police on Monday identified the teen killed in the crash as John Hughan of Norwell. Hughan had been working on the boat trailer with his uncle when the crash occurred, police said in a statement.
