$500k in ‘Mass Cash’ lottery prizes won at this store in Mass. on Thursday

A lottery player in Massachusetts won $500,000 on Thursday after purchasing five plays for the same numbers on a single “Mass Cash” ticket, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.

The winning numbers for the drawing on Oct. 12, were 6, 9, 13, 18 and 19.

The player had bought their winning ticket from a store in Mattapan called Blue Hill Market, and had played the same numbers in five separate plays on their winning ticket for the $500,000 prize.

The highest prize available to win in “Mass Cash,” by matching all five numbers drawn, is worth $100,000, which Thursday’s winner achieved by matching their winning numbers five times on their ticket.

Additionally, a $1 million prize sold in Medford from Tony’s Convenience store was claimed Thursday from the lottery’s “$15,000,000 Money Maker” scratch ticket game, and two $100,000 lottery prizes from the lottery’s other scratch ticket games were also claimed.

One of those $100,000 scratch tickets was sold at Boston Logan International Airport gas station’s Nouria convenience shop, and was from the lottery’s game called “Double Cash.”

The other was bought in Yarmouth from Bucky’s Convenience store, from the “300X” game.

Overall, there were at least 567 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including 16 in Springfield and 26 in Worcester.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The two largest lottery prizes won in the state of Massachusetts so far in 2023 were $33 million and $31 million Mega Millions jackpot prizes. The tickets were each sold a week apart.

The $33 million ticket for the Tuesday, Jan. 24 drawing was purchased from a Stop & Shop in Belchertown. The winner came forward to claim the prize on March 1 through the Skylark Group Trust.

The $31 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket was won on Jan. 31. The winning ticket was bought in Woburn from a Gibbs gas station, and the winner claimed the prize on March 8 through S & L Trust.
