4-year-old girl dies after being hit by vehicle in Boston

A 4-year-old girl was killed Sunday after being hit by a vehicle in Boston’s seaport, Boston Police said.

The girl was hit in the area of Congress and Sleeper streets, which is close to the Boston Children’s Museum, around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to Seargent Decetive John Boyle, a Boston police spokesman. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead.

The vehicle involved in the crash remained in the area following the collision, according to Boyle. There were no charges filed and no arrests made immediately after the accident.

“We want to thank members of the community who came down and provided assistance to the victim and the family,” Boston Police Superintendent Lanita Cullinane told reporters following the crash, according to video broadcast on NBC10 Boston.
