4 rescued from capsized boat off Cape Cod

Four people were taken to the hospital after their boat became disabled and eventually capsized off the coast of Yarmouth, Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois announced.

At around 11:40 p.m. Saturday, State Police assigned to Galibois’ office were notified of a capsized vessel in the ocean near Yarmouth. Officials believe the vessel became disabled and asked for help, and, later, began taking on water and eventually capsized while being towed, Galbois’ office said in a statement

The four occupants of the boat were thrown into the water, but were able to make it aboard the tow boat, according to the statement. One of the occupants was brought on to a Hyannis Fire Department boat for aid while first responders battled “challenging seas and winds.”

All four occupants were taken to the hospital after docking in Hyannis, according to Galibois’ office.
