A 31-year-old was killed during a fight near a Fall River package store Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m., a 911 call reported men fighting near Leonard’s Package Store located at 1331 Pleasant St. in Fall River. Police found Taiquan Teixeira, of Fall River, unresponsive with a gunshot wound, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III.
Teixeira was taken to the hospital and pronounced deceased a few hours later.
The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Fall River Police Department.
