A 30-year-old Ludlow man is being remembered for his “vibrant soul,” infectious laughter and courage.
Aaron Cabrera was found shot around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 on Fort Pleasant Avenue in Springfield, not far from the Masjid Baitus Salaam mosque, according to the Hampden County District Attorney’s office. Cabrera was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
His obituary states he was “surrounded by the warmth and love of his family” when he died.
“A vibrant soul known for his loyalty and humility, Aaron exemplified courage in every aspect of his life. His infectious laughter and genuine care for those around him made him a beacon of light in the lives of many,” it read.
The 30-year-old had a “profound impact on his community, touching the lives of many while remaining humble.”
Family will continue celebrate his life and “his legacy of love and laughter” — something they hope others do too.
“His spirit, his humor, and his courage will continue to inspire and guide them in their lives,” the obituary reads.
The shooting remains under investigation by Springfield homicide detectives and the district attorney’s office.
