2-year-old killed at auto repair shop in Cohasset on Thursday, police say

A 2-year-old boy was killed at an auto repair shop in Cohasset on Thursday afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The department stated that the child was struck and injured by a piece of equipment from a Bobcat-style loader at an auto repair garage on South Main Street, and added that a relative of the child had been present at the shop. It is unclear what time the incident occurred.

The Cohasset Police Chief is scheduled be giving a statement at 4 p.m. located at 55 S Main St. on the toddler’s death.

The 2-year-old boy was pronounced dead after he was brought to South Shore Hospital, the department said. He was just shy of turning 3, police said.

State Police detectives and troopers were on scene as of 4 p.m. Thursday, along with members of the Cohasset Police Department, State Police said. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, the department stated.
