
A 2-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in Lowell on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Lowell police went to West Third and Coburn streets at around 4 p.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. There, police found a 2-year-old girl with serious injuries lying in the street, Superintendent Greg Hudon said in a statement.
The girl was taken to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries, Hudon said.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police, Hudon said.
The crash remains under investigation.
