2 Boston University students sexually assaulted by unknown person Tuesday

Two Boston University students were sexually assaulted by a person they didn’t know Tuesday.

The first person reported an unknown person “touched them inappropriately” while walking down a busy sidewalk in the BU Central area near 617 Commonwealth Ave. around 10:45 a.m.

Another person reported a similar incident around 7:10 p.m. while they were riding on the Boston University Bus traveling near 595 Commonwealth Ave. They were able to get away from the person, police said.

Police believe the two incidents are related but a suspect, who is a male about 30 years old, had an Under Armour backpack is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, has not been found.

One of the students said the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Boston University police asks anyone who may have information to come forward at (617) 353-2121. To stay anonymous, people can text the word ‘BU’ to TIP411 (847911).
