An arrest warrant has been obtained for a 16-year-old in connection with a shots fired incident outside of a Burlington apartment complex on Tuesday, according to the Burlington Police Department.
Police got a call about a car crash near Building 5 at the Avalon Burlington, located at 1 Arboretum Way, around 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 18. Gunshots were reported right after, police said.
Burlington police said on Tuesday they believe three people were involved in the incident. An arrest warrant for the 16-year-old suspect was issued on Wednesday. They are not yet in custody, according to police.
“I want to provide an update on this incident, and to assure the community that we are doing our utmost to locate this suspect,” Chief Thomas Browne said.
The investigation is ongoing.
