Marshfield police are searching for a man suspected of grabbing a woman as she walked home, who called her a “scary little girl” before she broke free and ran off.
At around 11 p.m. on Saturday, officers went to a home on Ocean Street in the Rexhame area about a reported assault, police said in a statement released Tuesday.
The woman who called police told them that ,at around 9:45 p.m., as she walked home, she saw an old white pickup truck with no license plates keep driving past her, police said. Then at one point, the truck stopped and a passenger in the truck left it and approached her.
“You should come with me,” the passenger, a man, said. The woman told him, “No.”
“You’re a scary little girl,” he said as he grabbed her wrist.
The woman broke free, knocked him to the ground and ran off, the statement read. The man was left on the ground as the truck drove off.
A police K-9 unit searched the area, with officers now looking at surveillance footage from local businesses and residences, police said.
The man was described as skinny, about 6 feet tall, in his 60s and “with dark hair in a mullet style,” police said. He wore a white tank top and had missing teeth, with possible marks on his face from her fighting him off. Both the man and the truck‘s driver looked similar, the woman told police.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Officer Camden Bruno at 781-834-6655 ext. 1100.
