A woman in her 90s died after being seriously injured in a fire at her Stoughton home last week, state officials announced.
The woman, whose name was not released, was rescued from her home at 59 Greenbrook Drive in Stoughton when a fire broke out on the afternoon of Oct. 24. She was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where she died on Tuesday, Stoughton Fire Chief Michael Carroll, Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara, State Fire Marshal Jon Davine and Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced in a joint statement.
“Our hearts go out to the woman’s family and loved ones,” said Carroll, the fire chief. “On behalf of the Stoughton Fire Department and the community, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to them.”
