WMass educator sees need to restrict phone use during school day (Letters to The Republican)

I am writing to express my full support for a proposed bill in the state Senate, S. 335, “An act promoting safe technology use and distraction-free education for youth,” also known as the Study Act. This bill is aimed at restricting phone use in schools from bell to bell.

As an educator and an assistant principal at Palmer High School, I have seen firsthand the positive impact that such restrictions can have on student behavior and academic engagement.
