WMass cities face challenges with available land when wooing manufacturers

When Chicopee officials identified three vacant acres off Better Way recently, they decided to improve access to the land to attract developers.

Now the city is hoping to use that space — which can be subdivided into two or three separate lots — to attract manufacturing instead of housing or office space, said Mayor John L. Vieau.
