Seven hits and two Pittsfield baseball mistakes put No. 15 Belchertown past the top-seeded Generals, 7-1 on Wednesday.
The loss is just Pittsfield’s second loss of the season after going 10-1 to start the season.
The Orioles got off to a big start, putting up four runs in the first inning. The Generals found one run in the top half and couldn’t claw back into the game.
Canyon Charron led Belchertown with four RBIs, going 2-for-4 on a single and double. Josh Misiaszek had two RBIs and one run, going 1-for-3 with a walk.
Misiaszek didn’t just have a nice day at the plate but also on the mound. Going for seven innings, he gave up just two hits, one earned run and two walks.
He totaled eight strikeouts in his outing.
The Orioles are now on a six-game victory streak after a three-game losing streak, improving to 7-4.
Belchertown looks to continue its success against Chicopee Comp on Friday at 4 p.m., while Pittsfield will try to bounce back against No. 5 West Springfield on the same date and time.
