On Friday at 3:19 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid for Saturday between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Northern Worcester and Southern Worcester as well as Franklin, Middlesex, Essex, Hampshire and Hampden counties.
The weather service describes, “Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around a light glaze.”
“Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible, which could make for hazardous travel conditions,” states the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
