Wind advisory issued for Berkshire County until early Tuesday evening

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 3:19 a.m. on Tuesday valid for Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for Berkshire County.

The weather service says, “West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” adds the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.”
