The Montreal Canadiens will host the Toronto Maple Leafs for their season opener on Wednesday, October 9.
The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET and is only available to stream on ESPN+. ESPN+ plans are $10.99 a month or $14.99 a month if you bundle with Hulu and Disney+.
The NHL is officially back and Wednesday features more season openers for the rest of the league including Montreal and Toronto.
Montreal went 30-36-16 overall and 5-13-8 in division games a season ago. The Canadiens scored 44 power-play goals last season on 252 chances for a 17.5% success rate.
Toronto went 46-26-10 overall and 14-15-4 in division games a season ago. The Maple Leafs committed 320 total penalties last season, averaging 3.9 per game and serving 9.9 penalty minutes per game.
