WESTFIELD — The city’s Emergency Management Agency has recently switched to a new service called CodeRED to alert residents to situations that may need their attention, like hazardous weather or traffic conditions, fire emergencies or gas leaks, but it requires residents to sign up for the service.
“It is very important people to sign up for the service,” said Nina Barszcz, the director of the Westfield Regional Public Safety Communication Center.
